Greenhouse Mini Sessions
On April 1, 2023, I held my first take on Greenhouse Mini sessions at the lovely Highland Mansion in Fort Washington. The beautiful historic property granted me access to their gardens and an early 20th century greenhouse for a spring mini session date. I brought in Laura from Ms. Petunia Bergamot Designs as well as my own mother-in-law and brother-in-law (plant enthusiasts) to help me create a beautiful session. We had our work cut out for us. The greenhouse is completely empty and large, so we had to pack it with as many plants as possible.
While Laura got to work hanging ivy and plants from the ceiling, my family and I tried to create a couple fun spaces for the clients to interact with. Since most of my mini sessions involve children, we created a very bright and colorful area that included a small fairy platter for the kids to interact with. I had painted a few peg dolls and incorporated some small items from my fairy collection. They were a total hit.
Another section that we created was for my fellow Potter nerds. My brother-in-law and I are HUGE HP fans and so of course I had to incorporate some magical elements to this greenhouse since it reminded me so much of a Herbology class. I made a mandrake and a bowtruckle and printed out a couple of Herbology covers that I covered a few old books with. Look close to see some of the other details only a true HP nerd would catch.
Overall, the sessions were a huge success and I absolutely LOVED working on them. I hope that I get to do more fun sessions at the lovely Highland Mansion in the future.
